Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The Residential Services Adie Night Supervisor (RSANS) provides working level supervision for staff on the night shift in all living areas within an assigned unit. This position participates as a member of the interdisciplinary (ISP) team to coordinate living are services with other tours of duty to ensure that proper care and treatment is provided for persons with developmental disabilities. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Supervises direct care staff assigned to living areas, by scheduling and assigning work, explaining work procedures and evaluating work performance to ensure proper and maximum utilization of staff and time. Provides training on enhanced supervision supports. Resolves conflicts of routine and non-routine activities for individual treatment plans, through observation and directly assigning staff duties to ensure the individual is receiving quality services. Participates in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings by providing input regarding assessments or services provided, assisting in identifying priorities, recommending methodology and integrative approaches, and responding to input of other team members in order to ensure a program of continuous active treatment is established for each individual. Assists the Incident Management process by serving as the Point Person in determining the incident cause and assists in recommending strategies that lead to the prevention of incidents including the monitoring and implementation of preventive strategies and Center wide initiatives in assigned living areas. Directs RSA staff by implementing established management/supervisory directives, procedures and practices; coordinating completion of day-to-day work assignments; observing work in progress; conducting living area discussions; and reviewing work performance strengths and deficits with the supervisory staff in order to maximize utilization and productivity of assigned staff. Trains direct care staff by conducting formal and informal on-the-job training to ensure satisfactory work performance; maintains living areas as a safe and sanitary environment following institutional and program policy to ensure the health and safety of individuals. Guides/directs RSA staff in developing skills necessary to conduct residential training plans and supports by assisting in identifying training needs, monitoring and guiding work performance and reviewing reports in order to ensure work performance meets standards. Requests supplies and equipment to fully implement the goals and programs established by the IDT to maximize delivery of active treatment and personal growth. Participates in the center’s QI initiatives by knowing and understanding the established goals and objectives; provides requested information/data relative to the achievement of the goals and objectives and; participates in the identification of new center QI initiatives. Functions as the shift coordinator to ensure that adequate direct care staff coverage is maintained throughout the facility on a rotating basis by taking calls, arranging for overtime (OT), reassigning staff as necessary, coordinating hospital trips, receiving staff reports from on-site supervisors, circulating information for call offs, OT, etc. to unit managers, preparing periodic reports on the operation of shift coordination as necessary, ensuring proper maintenance of equipment, materials and records of the shift coordination operation. May be reassigned to any area of the Center on an as needed basis. Represents the facility and the administration by serving as a role model employee, complying with facility policies, advocating for persons with disabilities, and interacting appropriately with the staff and the public in order to maintain effective and efficient facility operations. Completes related duties and assignments by interacting regularly with unit and facility staff and assisting in times of need in order to ensure consistent unit operations and achieve unit and division/facility goals. Work activities may include: Lifting, positioning, and transferring all assigned individuals with the assistance of staff; pushing wheelchairs and other adaptive devices on the level, and up and down ramps. Performs all related duties as assigned by Community Support Manager and Director of Program Services. Performs related work as required and other duties as assigned. |
