Position Purpose:

An employee in this class performs various skilled and semi-skilled tasks. Work involves proficiency in several trades. Employees exercise technical independence in determining work methods and procedures. Review of work is received from technical or administrative superiors through inspections and discussions. This position is assigned to Electrical Shop within the Maintenance Department at Selinsgrove Center. The MR2 assigned to this position should possess basic knowledge of electrical and data systems. Primary duties are related to the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of the video camera, telephone, and television infrastructure at the Selinsgrove Center.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Reports directly to the Electrical Shop Facility Operations Supervisor. Assignments are given orally, in writing, or through electronic systems.

Completes varied projects as assigned in the scope of a Maintenance Repairman 2. Adapts schedule as requested to respond to emergency repairs as directed. Displays a cooperative work ethic when interacting with co-workers, management, external contractors, and facility staff. Professional and friendly boundaries are maintained when interacting with the individuals residing at the facility at all times.

Installs/runs cables, data lines, and electrical wire. Uses drills, power tools, and hand tools while completing installations. Makes final connections between equipment, data closets, electrical supply boxes, and outlets. Resets designated computer programs to restore connectivity.

Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and optimizes the video recording equipment on the exterior and interior of the Selinsgrove Center's buildings. Routinely services cameras and related infrastructure to ensure optimal viewing of targeted areas.

Sets up and programs television sets. Troubleshoots and repairs connections related to televisions.

Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains telephone system infrastructure.

Maintains and accounts for assigned equipment, tools, and materials. Equipment and material needs are coordinated through requests to the Facility Operations Supervisor in the Electrical Shop.

Works in safe manner. Uses ladders and lifts to maintain/install equipment. Maintains a safe environment for individual's residing at the facility while completing job tasks.

Completes other varied maintenance related duties as assigned. Although this position is primarily assigned to the Electrical Shop, some assignments may may be made by the Paint, Carpentry, Grounds, and Plumbing shops.

Decides which materials and methods are necessary to use in order to complete an assigned project.
Work is reviewed by the Facility Operations Supervisor and Facility Maintenance Managers while in progress and upon completion.

Essential Functions
