Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Assists Custodial Worker 2, but may be required to work independently at times Monitor and replenish cleaning materials and equipment used in performing duties. Utilizes tools and equipment of the custodial trade in the performance of cleaning tasks while following the DCNR 12 step cleaning process. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, waxes, and buffs floors. Cleans, dusts, and polishes furniture and fixtures. Washes and cleans windows, walls, and doors. Cleans toilets, sinks, and mirrors in restrooms and monitors/replaces restroom supplies. Cleans and services Clivus-Multrum style restrooms. These restrooms require adding and mixing "bulking material" (peat moss) into the waste, monitoring moisture content to ensure good composting conditions and cleaning the facility (toilets, toilet tubes and urinals). Cleans and services “Pit” style restrooms. These restrooms require cleaning of toilets, toilet tubes and urinals. Cleans portable toilets and changing rooms Gathers garbage, recyclable materials and hazardous wastes from all areas of the park; including emptying garbage/recycling cans. Utilizes safe material handling guidelines. Disposes of materials in a proper manner. Picks up litter along roadways, around buildings and in turf areas. Moves furniture and equipment when necessary to perform custodial tasks. Secures and maintains cleaning equipment; requests, picks up, and stores related supplies. Reports needed repairs to supervisor or crew leader. Shovels snow, sweeps and cleans walks, and assists in keeping immediate outside premises and building entrances in an orderly condition. Performs incidental assignments, such as removing ashes, replacing lightbulbs, and making simple repairs. Documents work performed. Performs related work as required. |
