This position performs duties that are routinely executed seven days a week and will be routinely scheduled to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed for park operations and to meet seasonal needs. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. The Maintenance Repairman 2, under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks that are carried out with attention and organization. Responsibilities include maintaining all buildings, vehicles, equipment, and infrastructure. Work also involves having journey level knowledge in two of three trades; building, mechanical or electrical. The employee must also have the knowledge and ability to operate park equipment. This salaried maintenance position will act as a lead worker for wage staff and volunteers and provides skilled journey level work in several trades in the maintenance, repair and construction of park buildings, facilities and equipment. This position will require knowledge in electrical and mechanical systems necessary to operate and maintain the Point State Park fountain and reflecting pool. This position will also require knowledge of maintaining buildings and grounds and associated infrastructure to include skills in masonry, plumbing, electrical, grounds and turf maintenance, and lawn irrigation systems. Also includes some painting, flooring installation and occasional cost estimation when preparing and planning materials purchases for larger projects. This position operates and maintain a variety of light and heavy equipment used in landscaping, turf management and park operations including; mowers, trimmers, chain saws, tractors, skid steers with attachments, in a safe and responsible manner. This position will be responsible for snow removal of pedestrian commuter ways and flood debris from park wharfs during times of inclement weather using a variety of snow removal equipment including snow blowers, brooms, Bobcat Toolcat, skid steer, UTV, and tractors. This position is responsible for the cleaning of restroom facilities and the emptying of trash receptacles during times when a semi-skilled laborer is not available to perform those duties. This position is highly recommended to obtain public applicator certification for pesticides and ISA arborist certification. This position will report results of daily work and project progreess to the Park Maintenace Supervisor and or the Park Manager. Daily cleaning reports and inventory reports Performs other duties as requested. |
