Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. 35% Maintenance and repair work includes: sanding, spackling, painting, and staining walls and other surfaces; repairing or replacing worn or damaged flooring; opening blocked drains and repairing leaky faucets; performing minor electrical wiring repairs; repairing/replacing light fixtures; and performing a variety of minor repairs to doors and locks, furniture, equipment, facilities and windows and window screens. Escorts maintenance vendors throughout buildings. 25% Shovels snow, sweeps, and clears walkways of snow and ice. Applies salt on snow and icy areas as needed. Sweeps walkways/sidewalks. Keeps outdoor grounds free of litter and other debris. Plows driveways and parking areas of snow. Performs groundskeeping work to include lawn mowing, grass clipping around stationary objects, trimming shrubs and trees, weeding, leaf removal, and watering. Operates tools and machinery associated with snow removal and groundskeeping. Maintains tools and machinery by changing oil, replacing filters/spark plugs, cleaning, sharpening blades, etc. Maintains lawn fixtures and flag poles. 15% Performs custodial work such as cleaning floors, restrooms, windows/mirrors, furniture, and walls and other surfaces. Washes, strips and waxes floors. Empties trash and recyclable receptacles. Stocks custodial supplies. Replaces light bulbs. 5% Maintains storage and care of custodial products and tools/equipment. 5% Checks HVAC system to ensure that the furnace, circulating pump, steam extractor, and filtering system are functioning properly. Cleans HVAC unit filters. Performs preventative maintenance as necessary. 5% Moves furniture to clean building or to make repairs, for relocations within the facility, and for loading for transport. Assists with the loading or unloading of Troop supplies and deliveries. 5% Assists Procurement and Supply Unit as required; including measuring gasoline levels, ensuring that adequate supplies of washer solvent, oil and other fluids are available for patrols, etc. 5% Performs other related work as required. |
