Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. This position receives, sorts, and delivers daily mail throughout the Fingerprint Identification Section. Receives, reviews, searches, and processes applicant and criminal fingerprint cards in accordance with the DNA Act, Horse & Harness prints, and out of state Gaming, CLEAN and JNET. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. 5% Receives, sorts, delivers, and processes daily mail. 25% Receives, reviews, and processes incoming fingerprint cards in accordance with HB 2235 (Private Detectives Act). Prepares fingerprint cards and verifies each fingerprint card for accuracy and submission of required fees. Ensures the Private Detective Agency submitting fingerprints maintains a current/active license with the Clerk of Courts Office within the appropriate county; ensures an electronic Criminal History Information is forwarded to the Clerk of Courts Office in a timely manner; and ensures that current criminal arrest information is forwarded to the Clerk of Courts upon the applicant’s arrest. 25 % Receives, reviews, and processes incoming DNA fingerprint cards in compliance with ACT 184, HB 835 (DNA Act). Collects, searches, and examines criminal history record information. Maintains basic knowledge and understanding of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code, Penal Code, Vehicle Code, Pharmacy Laws, Liquor Code, and Drug and Cosmetic Act 5 % Processes vendor/contractor, horse, and harness fingerprint cards. 5 % Receives, reviews, and processes incoming fingerprint cards in accordance with Commonwealth Law Enforcement Agency Network (CLEAN) and Pennsylvania Justice Network (J-NET) Users. Ensures a manual Criminal History (no record/record) response is forwarded to the requesting agency. 25 % Processes incoming Criminal Fingerprint Cards for completeness and accuracy. Queries Criminal History Database for verification of ORI number, statutory citation/charges, and OTN (Offensive Tracking Number). 10 % Performs other related duties as required. Assist in scanning and checking of fingerprints. Assists the supervisor in various tasks including training new employees and answering work related questions, preparing monthly statistics, and assisting in developing changes to procedures that would benefit the operations of the unit.
