Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Under the supervision of a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, designs, implements, and evaluates therapeutic activities which overlap or combine various aspects of therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy and vocational adjustment. Designs, implements, and evaluates therapeutic activities which overlap or combine various aspects of therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy and vocational adjustment. Provide Social Skills training by means of therapeutic evening programming groups, demonstration, practical exercise, off campus community experiences and one-to-one intervention with students. Integrates activities to enhance a student's ability to function appropriately and independently in the world of work, their community, and their independent residing environment. Researches, develops and adapts techniques with reference to each student's abilities and makes appropriate adaptations where necessary in the development and application of the student's therapeutic evening programming and independent living skills programs. Organizes field trips and outside activities directly related to enhancing student's independent living. May attend multi-disciplinary team meetings and provide input towards developing student plan and provide progress reports. May perform in-service training for Center professionals and community to familiarize them with the unique offering of the groups and programs available to students. May complete recreational therapy evaluations on students to include recommendations for therapeutic programming. Duties include programs and activities for Pre-Ets qualifying participants. Provides guided leadership and assistance to all students participating with recreational activities. Coordinates scheduling of space, equipment and staff for therapeutic activities and/or groups within assigned area and integrates scheduling with service provided by other disciplines. Maintains necessary administrative and clinical records. Requisitions necessary supplies and equipment needed for implementation of therapeutic activities, therapeutic evening programming/groups, or independent living skills. Participates in staff meetings. Participates in in-service and out-service training to keep abreast of theory and methods established programs. Gives Center Tours as required. Designs, implements and evaluates therapeutic activities. May supervise and transport students. Maintains safety and performs emergency evacuations. Duties include WIOA compliant and Pre-Ets related services. Performs related work as required. |
