Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Responsible for the medical supervision of assigned patients and works in conjunction with other physicians, nurses and other professional personnel. Work is performed independently, subject to review by the Supervisory Physician and/or the Chief of Medicine. Physician has thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of Primary Care Medicine. Interprets laboratory reports and confirms clinical findings to aid in the diagnosis of diseases. Orders and reviews any appropriate studies before referral to specialists. Provides lunch time coverage Noon to 1 PM on a rotation basis. May provide hospital wide coverage during off hours, weekends, and holidays. 1. Must have experience with EMR - Electronic Medical Records. 2. Examines Patients 3. Observes and treats conditions of skin/body 4. Speaks English fluently 5. Hears and understands conversations. 6. Ambulates to the units and examines patients without restrictions 7. Analyzes data 8. Interprets data 9. Performs formal medical assessments on admissions when applicable, as well as yearly comprehensive medical assessments, and reviews & document all diagnoses. 10. Performs, on a monthly basis, medical reviews of patients and documents in monthly progress note, in accordance with Norristown State Hospital standards. 11. Evaluates patients and reviews medications on a monthly basis and more often as per the needs of assigned patients. |
