Assists in the Certification, Accreditation and Licensing Division (Asbestos, Lead, Bedding & Upholstery, Stuffed Toys, Private Employment Licensing, Uniform Construction Code, Boiler Certification) when needed. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Review approve/deny and process applications for Flammable & Combustible Liquids, Liquefied Petroleum Gas, and Boiler/Pressure Vessel programs. Ensure the correct number of copies have been submitted, applications are complete and legible, contain the correct information, and the correct application fee has been received. Enter application information on the Bureau’s database system for each program area and apply the application fees. Forward the applications to the Plan Reviewer for review. Track any returned or insufficient applications. Update the database system as the status of the applications change; type plan approval letters and/or permits, and mail approved applications to the installers/applicants and state inspectors; process Industrial Board Variance Requests and Extensions of Time for recommendation by the Plan Reviewer and forward to the Industrial Board by established deadlines. Process invoice payments for Boiler/Pressure Vessels, Antique Boilers, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas and Elevator Programs by researching the Bureau’s database and verifying the correct accounts with the payment receipts from Central Collections; may also apply any credits to accounts when monies have been received. Process refunds; process and notify customers of any checks that have been returned by their bank for non-sufficient funds or stop-payments. Process owner information, responsible party, location information and equipment change requests which involves detailed file research supporting the requested changes. Process inspector reports for Boiler/Pressure Vessels, Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Flammable and Combustible Liquids, Antique Boilers and Elevator Programs by inputting information on the Bureau’s database system. If any inspections fail, mail out violation letters to owners and/or responsible parties for corrective action; clear violation letters that have been signed by owners and/or responsible parties and initialed by the Boiler Director by updating the Bureau’s database system. Assist the general public in resolving invoice problems and the correct procedure for submitting applications, scheduling inspections, etc. Assist in processing Elevator Initial and/or Major Repairs/Alteration inspection reports and applications when needed. Update name/address requests; respond to telephone inquiries. Initiate in detailed research to respond to Right To Knows and Subpoenas submitted to us for the Flammable & Combustible Liquids, Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Boiler/Pressure Vessel and Elevator programs from legal. Submit all required documents to the RTK office/legal. Provide general assistance to the general public, customers, manufacturers, equipment installers, bureau and third-party inspectors relating to the daily operations. Communicate and provide assistance/support to management, inspection and clerical staff, and the public. Answer inquiries pertaining to complaints, applications, and forms, as well as provide information regarding law label requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. |
