Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position supports the Bureau of Equal Employment Opportunity Investigations (BEEOI) in the Employee Relations and Workforce Support Office. The employee in this position will perform work assignments designed to develop a comprehensive understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, Commonwealth policies, EEO complaint investigation procedures, protected classes, acts of harm, and jurisdictional issues. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. This position participates in a 12-month training program which provides on-the-job formal training in assisting higher-level human resource and EEO professionals with BEEOI functions. Assists in reviewing newly received complaints to determine whether or not the complaints are within the EEO investigative jurisdiction. Assists with investigating discrimination complaints. This includes assisting with interviewing witnesses, collecting data, and preparing reports of findings and recommendations for resolution in accordance with Management Directive 410.10 Amended, Internal EEO Complaint Investigations. Assists with explaining procedures for filing internal discrimination complaints to employees and applicants. Assists with providing EEO-related training for Commonwealth employees, managers, and supervisors. Performs other duties as assigned. |

The supervisor is informed of the status of work assignments, and the incumbent regularly discusses with the supervisor decisions, issues, and initiatives. Increasing levels of independence and responsibility should be achieved in performance of the full range of duties. |
