Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Performs full range of supervisor duties over a staff of Database Administrators and Analysts. Serves as Lead Designer for Microsoft PowerBI. As subject matter expert on data visualization the incumbent will participate in discussions related to special projects and modernization efforts; assisting in cultivating requirements and solutioning using available resources. Serves as EBR liaison with Microsoft regarding data visualization topics. Leads planning activities related to the overall usage and design of data products. Provides professional advice and opinions to senior management regarding improvements in the technology, the delivery of solutions and the management of tools to provide insights into data. Develop, administer and enforce standards related to the use of data. This position is responsible for managed access to reports and visualizations when required. Define and implement new or revised views of the data, as needed, to satisfy new system requirements or for end user requirements. Designs database structures consistent with application, operational and networked implementation requirements. Establish, and enforce standards on format, size, and accessibility for deliverable data products. Develop, administer and enforce procedures and controls necessary to ensure security and integrity for all deliverable data products. Develop performance standards for data products and works with required staff to ensure prompt response to queries. Works with EBR and OA PowerBI staff to monitor usage and resource allocations. Directs the development of managerial reports as required. Participates in the selection of relational data base management software to ensure compatibility with all existing software and databases. Mentor and train users in access techniques, organization, concepts and abilities for Microsoft PowerBI. Establish and cultivate a robust user group consisting of both program area and IT users to facilitate exchange of ideas and promote success. Receives continuous education, and maintains up-to-date knowledge of frequently changing concepts, procedures, hardware, software and capabilities associated data visualization. Complies with all bureau and departmental security policies and guidelines. Be knowledgeable of, adhere to, and contribute to established service management processes and procedures; knowledge management processes and procedures; and digital accessibility regulations and standards. Performs other related duties as required. |

Makes critical data decisions on appropriate use of data. Coordinates with OA Data team on release of public data. Makes recommendations to management of new technologies to expand capabilities. |
