Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Responsible for supervising the clerical staff assigned to the Real Estate and Vehicle Division of the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs. Supervises and assists in evaluating and processing licensure applications for all real estate and vehicle salespersons classifications. Additionally, supervises and assists in the licensing of all vehicle dealer classifications. Use of independent judgment in determining licensure eligibility is necessary. Must be familiar with licensure requirements for each of these classifications. The issuance of a license to an unqualified applicant could result in risk to the health, safety and welfare of the public.

Description of Duties:

Specific supervising duties for employees under your supervision include:

1. Distributes work to clerical staff within the division.

2. Responsible for providing on the job training to clerical staff.

3. Responsible for completing performance evaluations for clerical staff within the division.

4. Prepares employee job description and performance standards for clerical staff within the division.

5. Interviews job applicants applying for clerical positions with the division.

6. Establishes and oversees an employee training program for the clerical staff.

7. Authorizes leave usage for clerical staff.

8. Works closely with the Division Chief and the other Clerical Supervisor in keeping all operations in the division up to date with the workflow.

9. Provides information to the public by telephone and in person, relative to applications and licensure requirements.

10. Prepares non-routine electronic correspondence in response to applicant / licensee inquiries and application discrepancies.

11. Services as back-up for all clerical areas within the division.

12. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Division Chief.
