Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. 50% Maintenance and repair work includes: A. Applies paint to both the interior of the building and exterior surfaces around the grounds. Responsibilities include selecting the appropriate paint for each project and preparing surfaces for painting, which involves tasks such as sanding, chipping, and applying paint. B. Handles remodeling tasks such as repairing, installing, and removing doors, shelving, tiles, roofing, and walls. Also repairs office furniture and equipment and replaces light bulbs. C. Handles masonry tasks, including installing and repairing concrete sidewalks and curbs. D. Repairs plumbing equipment, including pumps, sinks, toilets, showers, and pipes. Installs fixtures, clears blocked drains, and fixes leaks. 35% Custodial work includes: A. Sweeps, vacuums, mops, buffs, and waxes floors. B. Cleans restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, windows, mirrors, and furniture. Dusts and wipes other surfaces like blinds, walls, and furniture. Stocks supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in designated areas. C. Empties trash and recyclable receptacles and installs new liners as needed. Places trash and recyclables in outdoor receptacles. D. Maintains storage and care of custodial products and tools/equipment. E. Moves furniture/equipment as needed to clean building. Assists with the loading or unloading of supplies and deliveries. 5% Clears snow and ice from walkways and applies salt as needed. Sweeps walkways and sidewalks and keeps outdoor areas free of litter and debris. Performs grounds maintenance including lawn mowing, trimming shrubs and trees, weeding, leaf removal, and watering. Operates tool and machinery for snow removal and grounds keeping, such as shovels, snow blowers, push mowers, chainsaws, and weed whackers. Maintains lawn fixtures and flagpoles. 5% Maintains storage and care of maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery by changing oil, replacing filters/spark plugs, cleaning, sharpening blades, etc. 5% Performs other related work as required. |
