Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Incumbent in this position performs skilled work at the journeyman level in a variety of trades in order to prepare, maintain and repair the region’s Wine & Spirit Shoppes, warehouses and offices. This position is considered essential, and you will be required to work or continue to work when an agency emergency has been declared. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Constructs and installs metal pins, shelving, gondolas, turnstiles, customer control railing and display units. Fabricates, installs and maintains elevated offices, center tables, steps, counters, partitions, walls, platforms, cabinets, supply shelves, work tables, desk tops, change drawers, signs (interior and/or exterior) and all necessary finish trim work. Repairs and adjusts doors, door frames, door checks, automatic door openers and closures. Installs and repairs locks and locking devices. Hangs doors as necessary. Prepares, installs and repairs floors (concrete and/or wood) which include vinyl tile, carpet tile, ceramic tile, etc. Installs electric circuits, outlets, ballasts, panelboard switches, indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures and general wiring in accordance with N.E.C. Repairs and reconditions electrical equipment. Installs and repairs all required electrical wiring for computer operated cash register system. Installs, repairs, and/or relocates telephone equipment and lines within Wine & Spirit Shoppes, warehouses and offices. Installs and repairs bells, buzzers and other signal devices as necessary. Installs and repairs hardware and alarms on rear exit doors. Installs and maintains camera system equipment. Paints and decorates interiors of stores to include various wall finishes. Installs and repairs commode mechanisms, spigots, drain pipes and all other plumbing fixtures in accordance with acceptable plumbing trade standards. Installs, transfers and maintains refrigerated cold boxes and wine wells as necessary. Performs various maintenance related duties to the interior and exterior of leased premises in order to provide safe and attractive facilities. Operates and maintains power tools such as table saws, jointers, band saws, sanders, drills and various other power tools. Operates and maintains various hand tools. Operates a variety of maintenance vehicles for transporting equipment, supplies, and materials throughout the regions; transfer safes, refrigerators, wine wells and store inventory stock as necessary to include the transfer of cash registers and other delicate electronic equipment that requires special handing. Operates and maintains maintenance vehicles in a safe and secure manner. When voluntarily accepting a maintenance vehicle, insures it is serviced regularly and is properly secured during non-working hours. Responsible for and maintains an inventory of tools and equipment located on the maintenance vehicle. Cares for and maintains assigned state vehicle in accordance with standard procedures. Maintains all appropriate/required maintenance vehicle reports. Removes and disposes of debris from stores due to damage by vandalism, floods, fires, etc. Removes and transfers all shelving, furniture, equipment and general debris from stores due to closing, refurbishments, relocations or other situations as required. Conducts inspections of stores to determine necessity and extent of requested maintenance/repairs. Performs the necessary work, recording on the form, PLCB-833 “Request for Maintenance”, all the information and materials utilized. Responds to emergencies occurring in/at our Wine & Spirits Shoppes and support functions to include boarding doors, windows, roofs, etc., with the objective being to provide security until permanent repairs are completed. Utilizes and interprets blueprints when performing various duties and assignments that require blueprints. Ability to learn basic Desktop applications, such as Outlook and SAP-LSO training. Completes daily work sheets, various other reports and forms as required. Incumbent is required to travel in overnight status including assignments outside the Region as necessary, when performing various duties and assignments. Perform related duties as required. |
