Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate accounting of the agency’s physical inventory for its retail stores. It works closely with operations, supply chain, the delivery centers and 3rd Party Logistic providers to ensure accurate accounting of physical inventory.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Reconciles inventory and variances for assigned stores to general ledger and reconciles inventory to physical inventories and cycle counts on weekly basis.

Monitors inventory transactions for all assigned stores.

Monitors variance reports for all inventory items and transactions.

Requests physical inventory counts of stores based upon various reports indicating unusual activity.

Develops inventory analysis reports and analyzes variances.

Assists in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory.

Verifies the accuracy of standard costs.

Prepares monthly journal entries as needed.

Enters monthly inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) journal entries.

Produces daily production and variance reports, and reviews reports for discrepancies.

Assists in identifying, reviewing and determining causes of variances related to inventory shortages.

Reviews and monitors retail in-store adjustments to ensure the accurate accounting of adjusted inventory.

Develops and tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) working closely with operations management.

Prepares reports on margins by product and product type for assigned stores.

Works with operations, supply chain and warehouse personnel to identify gaps in inventory and reviews various cycle counts in order to reconcile transaction errors for assigned stores.

Works with purchasing and warehouse personnel to identify, locate and dispose of obsolete, damaged, expired or spoiled inventory.

Performs other related duties as required.
