Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. The purpose is to serve as a first shift supervisor for Mail Production Assistants/Operators/Team Leads, Print Production Technicians and perform complex, time sensitive and data sensitive print/mail work in a fast-paced environment using the latest technologies and high-end production level equipment. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE – REQUIRED TO REPORT TO WORK DURING EMERGENCIES AND OFFICE CLOSINGS. Functions as a supervisor for first shift mail and print operations by assigning and reviewing work, training employees and performing quality control functions for all the work. Oversees and directs the work and all print and mail equipment, job tickets and work orders and all other work performed on this shift. As a supervisor, oversees and guides the performance of the work ensuring it is consistent with operational and/or organizational requirements. Stages and prioritizes work for the print/insert and sort units using job tickets and work orders to ensure work is completed timely and accurately. Performs quality assurance/quality control reviews on work completed by subordinate staff. Submits daily production reports and shift turnover reports to management to ensure continuity of operations across shifts. Performs the full range of supervisory duties. Operates a motor vehicle used to pick up mail and deliver printed publications and materials to various locations. Employees in this job may participate in subordinates’ work consistent with operational or organizational requirements. Performs related work as required. |
