Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Provides clerical support to the Department by processing and filing Criminal Incident Reports completed by Department members as well as completing Master Name Index Verifications within the transcription queue of the Records Management Systems.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

35% Processing incoming and outgoing mail. Files Criminal Incident Reports as well as other related reports numerically by Troop, CAD Call (Computer Aided Dispatch) number, legacy AIMS Incident number, and year (if applicable). Processes requests for copies of Criminal Incident Reports from within the Department as well as from outside agencies, ensuring processing is completed in a timely manner.

25% Processes reports from the State Records Center.

15% Processes requests for copies of Criminal Incident Reports from within the Department and from outside agencies, ensuring processing is completed in a timely manner.

10% Verify entities transcribed into the Master Name Index (MNI) generated from Records Management Systems.

5% Assists in handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls from the public and their representatives, as well as from field personnel and other agencies with any questions related to criminal investigative reports and filing.

5% Assists the Supervisor by helping in the training of new employees and answering work-related questions of fellow workers and others requesting Unit information.

5% Performs any other related duties assigned by the Unit and Section Supervisor.

Work is performed independently. Section Supervisor inspects work periodically. Non-routine assignments are given as necessary with specific instructions and time frames for completion. The type of work described in the Description of Duties is assigned to the employee on a permanent basis. New work is explained and reviewed by the Supervisor.
