Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Assists in reviewing, evaluating, and recommending approval/disapproval of program applications primarily for the programs within the Tax Credit Division, which includes the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program, Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit Program, Manufacturing Tax Credit Program, Waterfront Development Tax Credit Program, Historic Preservation Tax Credit Program, Coal Refuse and Energy Tax Credit Program and Beginning Farmer Tax Credit Program. Work is performed with supervisory oversight and input from higher level economic development professionals. Helps review, analyze, and recommend program applications for approval/disapproval and if necessary provides greater analysis if the project falls outside stated eligibility parameters. Requests additional information from applicants to evaluate and meet eligibility requirements. Supports other staff in monitoring and providing technical assistance to a variety of internal and external customers on assigned projects receiving tax credits. Aids in responding to inquiries from applicants/tax credit recipients. Prepares and distributes a variety of documents, reports, and appendices for the Tax Credit Division programs. Assists in the review and approval of receipts from businesses in order to determine eligibility for tax credits with input from higher level economic development professionals. Reviews project reports for compliance with all program requirements. Prepares and maintains a complete list of open/active projects for regular follow-up and review. Helps to review and recommend revisions/updates to program guidelines and materials to the Division Director. Participates in site tours and meetings to discuss funding options for prospective/current projects. Assists in public presentations on the division programs to a variety of audiences. Prepares progress/accomplishment reports as requested by a variety of internal and external customers. Helps to input, maintain, and retrieve data and reports from program specific databases in ACCESS as well as the Single Application for Assistance. Performs other related duties as requested. |
