Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The employee in this key position is responsible for completing manual and clerical work necessary to the operation of an efficient warehouse and inventory control system fulfilling the Storeroom mission to receive and distribute materials to all departments in a timely manner so that they may complete their operational and patient care duties at Warren State Hospital. |
Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Responsible for the receipt, storage and distribution of a wide variety of stores items. Helps to develop the arrangement of storage areas; shelving, pallet layout--utilizing efficient storage methods.Anticpate future changes and prepares for with adequate notice, according to time requirements. Notifies the Storekeeper of rejected/damaged or backordered items Receives, examines and records the receipt of goods; stores goods in proper storage places; receives delivery orders; authorizes withdrawal of goods from stock, checking for required commodity size and lot; posts incoming and outgoing commodities to perpetual inventory records. Uses S.A.P. MIGO, ZME2W, MB90 programs. Assists in maintaining supply levels, based on departmental needs and turnover rate.Maintains accurate records for each purchase order document. Periodic reviews of the employee's work is made by an inspection of records and stock conditions by the supervisor. Logs incoming and outgoing shipments noting date of receipt/shipment, contents, and destination; inspects quantity and quality of commodities to insure conformance to specifications; accepts or rejects goods as indicated; completes a receiving report noting partial or damaged shipments. Assembly and packing of shipments; contacts transportation companies to arrange for shipping, oversees and assists the proper loading of goods.UPS and Fed-Ex. Reviews the utilization of supplies in order to avoid overstocking items having a low turnover rate and reports any incidents of improper stock levels to the supervisor, prepares requisitions for stock replacement, using S.A.P. MB51 and MD04 programs. . Maintains proper records for periodic inventories receipt and issuance of materials and assists in taking physical inventories of stock, when requested. Responsible for maintaining safe and sanitary conditions in the storeroom, utilizing established polices and practices. Performs related work as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Keeps accurate inventory and stores records; filing documents, reviewing backordered items, etc. Supervises the physical layout of storage areas. Determines whether goods received coincide with bill of lading, pack slip, invoice, etc.;accepts or rejects supplies as indicated insuring conformance to specifications, completes paperwork showing partial or final receipt. Communicate with others in a respectful and proffessional manner. Handles inquiries in confident, polite manner. Assists in maintaining Storeroom power and manual equipment, ahering to safe practices. Sufficient physical condition to permit the lifting and moving of heavy objects |

Maintains expected safe and sanitary conditions within the warehouse environment, supervising other subordinate staff, ahering to policies and guidelines. |
