Provides maintenance repair support throughout the Department, primarily in the area of instaling modular furniture and partitions. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Work involves proficiency in several trades. Function as work leader over Laborer position. Exercise technical independence in determining work methods and procedures, and receives assignments orally or through written instructions, which may be accompanied by floorplans or sketches. Works with, handles, installs, reconfigures and relocates Donn walls, modular workstations, and office furniture. Repairs doors, door frames, office furniture and equipment. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, all shop equipment, mail equipment (i.e. letter opener) and general mechanical equipment within the department. Operates shop equipment, i.e., hammer drill, circular saw, electric drills, saber saw and related power and hand tools, to perform assigned carpentry duties. Maintains equipment and reports any issues or needs for service or replacement. Operates warehousing equipment such as forklifts, manual and electric hand-jacks, skid wrapper, and hand trucks. Paints, stains furniture and line strips parking lot areas. Performs small electrical repairs, replaces task lighting, including bulbs, in cubicles as needed. Performs emergency plumbing repairs as needed. Performs preventative maintenance on motorized equipment. Works with the Automotive Officer to ensure routine vehicle inspections and repairs are handled in a timely fashion. Maintains keys and key list for Revenue offices. Maintains inventory of furniture and cubicle parts and panels. Reads floorplans to complete projects and work assignments. Maintains shop supplies and will request supplies and tools required to perform work. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers, department personnel, vendors, and the Department of General Services trades (DGS). Travels throughout the state to install modular furniture and partitions and make deliveries or pickups from field office locations. Overnight travel is required and may be planned at the last minute. Maintains knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades. Mindful of internal controls and risk management when changes are made to a process. Treats others equitably and adheres to diversity and inclusion requirements in the workplace. Demonstrate a commitment to the service-oriented culture of the Department. Applies Lean thinking in day-to-day tacks. Performs other duties as assigned. |
