Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Provides professional and technical work in the development and presentation of environmental education and interpretive programs and activities at Worlds End State Park. In accordance with Act 153 of 2014 this position is required to complete Child Abuse, Criminal and Federal Criminal History Checks around the time of hire and thereafter every 5 years. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Researches, develops, coordinates, presents and evaluates environmental education and interpretive programs on a variety of natural history and human history topics to the public and organized groups ranging from preschool to senior citizen groups. Using state developed themes and programs, develops and implements a series of environmental and interpretive programs focusing on the park’s natural history, historic and cultural events, and environmental management issues and conducts special activities for the park visitor. Coordinates and facilitates recreational/entertainment programs such as craft fairs, clean ups, etc. Facilitates environmental learning activities using established lesson plans including but not limited to State Parks Activities for Environmental Learning, Project Learning Tree, Project Wild, Pennsylvania Songbirds, Food Land and People and Project WET. Develops and utilizes written lesson plans in approved format for presentation of all programs. Maintains displays in the Visitor’s Center as well as outside, including the educational garden. Assists with the monitoring of park social media. Other duties as assigned |
