Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively.

The work involves manual and semi-skilled laboring duties connected with the maintenance of Oil Creek State Park grounds and facilities.

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Digs holes and ditches with hand tools; Loads trucks with sand, gravel, and waste material using a hand shovel; Remove trees and brush with saw, axe or chain saw. Mows and trims grass using power mowers or small riding tractors, powered line trimmer, power edgers, or hand tools. Cleans restrooms, washhouses, and other park buildings. Remove snow from walks, roads with hand tools, snow blower, or small tractor.

Act as a helper to skilled workmen and assist them in their performance of their duties.

Make minor repairs to various structures and facilities using various tools of the carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other building trades in the performance of maintenance work.

Operates and maintains general park equipment; such as tractors, pumps, compressors, chain saws and generators.

Drives truck to haul men and materials to and from jobs; assists in the performance of the job. Assists in taking care of buildings and grounds, paints buildings, equipment and facilities using rollers, brushes or power sprayer. Repairs screens, windows, doors and does landscaping work. Cuts and splits firewood.

Performs other duties as required.
