Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. 30% Assist with the intake of new liquor citation cases and firearms cases; scan and upload documents; enter and update status of all pending cases in office spreadsheets; update contact list for all new cases for the attorneys; file and maintain documents in physical and/or electronic filing systems; type and prepare correspondence and legal documents for attorney review, including settlement letters, waiver memos, court filings and pleadings, entries of appearance, and subpoenas for witnesses. 20% Assist the attorneys and support staff located at Headquarters with litigation-related matters involving PSP, which may include assisting with discovery issues, reviewing and summarizing deposition testimony, reviewing and editing pre-trial motions, trial preparation, and post-trial issues and appeals. 10% Assemble exhibits and prepare affidavits in liquor cases for processing pre-hearing memoranda to administrative law judges, copy and mail and/or email to the parties. 10% Handle incoming telephone calls, mail, faxes and office resource account emails and route appropriately; address any inquiries from licensees or attorneys in completing waiver forms or answering questions about the citation and adjudication process. 10% Utilize the PLCB’s on-line system (POSSE) to verify license status, RAMP status, and obtain any applicable information needed by the attorneys. 10% Perform other administrative duties as required by the supervisory attorney and/or Deputy Chief Counsel, including tracking of office expenses and assisting in the preparation of various memos to Bureau personnel. 5% Contact witnesses and send instructions for Microsoft Teams hearings in liquor cases. 5% Assist attorneys in procedural issues with firearms cases to ensure that all local rules are followed for the appropriate county court. |
