Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Conducts financial and performance audits, attestation engagements, and professional non-audit services of organizations within the responsibilities of the Bureau of Audits.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

75% - Leads a variety of engagements including audits, agreed-upon procedures engagements (AUPs), evaluations, and review of various types of entities. Audits and AUPs are conducted in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards. Develops risk assessment or evaluates risk assessment developed by staff based on engagement objectives. Develops or reviews the development of the engagement program and objectives. Interprets agreements, contracts, policies, legislation, rules, and regulations. Conducts testing in accordance with the engagement program. Utilizes sampling methods to develop samples for testing. Oversees and/or conducts interviews with entities and exit and entrance conferences. Develops questions in order to gain an understanding of the entity’s policies and procedures. Obtains documents from entity to conduct testing and to support the entity’s policies and procedures. Analyzes documents prepared by staff in TeamMate. Prepares and reviews findings and recommendations

Work is performed under the direct supervision of an Audit Manager who assigns the work, gives preliminary instructions, and reviews work in progress and upon completion for quality, adherence to established standards, and professional development. Professional judgment is exercised regarding risk assessment, sample selections, materiality, and the disposition of exceptions noted during the conduct of assignments. Work is performed independently with minimal supervision from the Audit Manager.
