Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position is primarily responsible for creating visually appealing digital and traditional graphic designs for the Pennsylvania Game Commission for the purpose of creating awareness to the public about the agency’s mission, news and updates. Additional responsibilities include creating and assisting with agency marketing initiatives through the Marketing and Strategic Communications bureau.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

•Manage the graphic design and uploading process for all project materials including but not limited to agency marketing, branding, information and outreach, podcasts, social media, email marketing, web pages, etc.
•Plan, develop and strategize on agency branding.
•Create graphic designs to facilitate traditional and non-traditional paid and non-paid digital ad campaigns through the Bureau of Marketing and Strategic Communications.
•Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams on a wide range of materials including but not limited to signage, presentations, web pages, programs, newsletters, reports, pamphlets, and other marketing material for both consumptive and non-consumptive audiences.
•Encourage and assist staff in branding public communication materials.
•Ensure accuracy of graphics align with the agency’s mission.
•Regularly coordinate with other bureaus and regions for the purpose of ensuring information accuracy and content creation.
•Produce regular report on project status.
•Stay current on graphic design trends. Keep abreast of new and changing technology regarding design to ensure proper marketing efforts are being utilized for new and existing audiences.
•Assist in developing, creating and managing marketing and grassroots network opportunities and initiatives.
•Review website content for relevancy and simplicity.
•Develop concepts with software, or by hand and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of color, text, font style. Imagery and layout.
•Utilize the Adobe Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and or other similar design applications.
•Attend trainings to improve job skills.
•Organize and maintain content, records and materials.
•Weekend and evening travel required.
•Perform other assigned tasks as required.

Requirements Profile: Identify any specific experience or requirements, such as a licensure, registration, or certification, which may be necessary to perform the functions of the position. Position-specific requirements should be consistent with a Special Requirement or other criteria identified in the classification specification covering this position. Example: Experience using Java; Professional Engineer License

Experience:

•An undergraduate degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, wildlife, biology, or other related field; or at least three years of professional experience in graphic design work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Preferred candidates will have a strong passion for hunting, trapping, wildlife conservation, and/or outdoor recreation in Pennsylvania.
•Willingness to attend trainings, conferences, or workshops to improve work-related skills.
•Knowledge of various social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
•Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Effective interpersonal, presentation and public speaking skills.
•Ability to work independently as well as with a team to achieve program and agency goals.

Required:
1. PA Child Abuse History Certification from DHS (PA Child Abuse);
2. Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Record Check (PSP); and
3. DHS Fingerprint-Based FBI Criminal History Background Check(DHS FBI).

Employment clearances must be renewed every sixty (60) months.

 10. Travel overnight and on weekends as required; traverse rough terrain in all weather conditions
