Position Purpose:

Provide assistance with evaluation of state parks Organized Group Camp (OGC) program.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Employee will travel and collect data at each of our Organized Group Camp (OGC) parks and inventory of our 100’s of historic structures:
• Hickory Run, French Creek, Blue Knob, Laurel Hill, and Raccoon Creek (each park has at least two OGC

Perform data collection to include
• Interior and exterior photographs of structures
• Updates to inventory sheet of building specs or each structure
• Collecting of GPS points where needed
• Evaluation of project needs list for each structure (i.e. no utilities, broken door, broken window, leaking roof, other misc. damage, ADA needs)

Input of all data collected in the State Parks Portal

Helping to facilitate meetings and provide presentations to park staff, park partners and potential contractors.

Provide reports and recommendations to Director’s Office and OGC Future Use Team to pursue future endeavors.

Uses computer programs such as Microsoft Office to do a variety of tasks.

Use GPS data collecting equipment and associated GIS portal.

Assists with office duties.

Inspects buildings and park structures for safety hazards.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Decision Making:

Employee assists park patrons with information including park rules and regulations. Employee determines and addresses safety concerns within the park; answers questions from the public regarding the park's features and activities; and recognizes and responds to emergency situations. Law enforcement issues shall be passed on to Park Manager or DCNR Rangers.
