Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position serves a wide variety of public relations, safety and visitor service duties designed to protect visitors, facilities, and natural resources at Tuscarora State Park Complex, including Locust Lake State Park. In accordance with Act 153 of 2014 this position is required to complete Child Abuse, Criminal and Federal Criminal History Checks around the time of hire and thereafter every 5 years. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Utilizes park reservation software to make reservations, issue permits, run reports, check in visitors, and collect revenue at the Locust Lake contact station, and Tuscarora State Park Office, for camping, yurts, boat mooring, boat launching, both in person and over the telephone. Employee provides customer service, interacts with park visitors to answer questions regarding park facilities, recreational activities, park history, and environmental features and surrounding areas. Employee works closely with maintenance staff, volunteer camp hosts, and rangers to ensure campsites are ready for new visitors during the check in/check out process. Employee accepts visitor complaints and directs them to the Park Manager, Park Maintenance Supervisor, or DCNR Ranger. Travels throughout the park complex utilizing motorized vehicles, bicycle, on foot, and by watercraft. Explains park rules, regulations, policies and procedures to park visitors and special interest groups. Informs Park Manager or DCNR Rangers if visitor actions require additional law enforcement actions. Responds to emergency situations and requests assistance from park staff and outside agencies. Administers first aid, including CPR to injured park visitors. Participates in search and rescue operations to locate lost visitors on State Park grounds and boundaries. Keeps Park Manager, Park Maintenance Supervisor, and all other park staff informed of situations, needs and/or problems. Assists park visitors, improves voluntary compliance with the rules and regulations utilizing education and explanation; reports violations of the law to appropriate enforcement staff. Monitors the security of park buildings and facilities. Inspects park buildings and park structures for safety hazards. Cleans vehicles and equipment. Maintains a neat and organized work area. Keeps information on bulletin boards current and neat. Performs related duties as assigned or required. |

Non-routine work is indicated by communication with supervisor and priorities are determined. Employee is assigned general office duties verbally and work is spot checked for accuracy. Performance of visitor services duties is reviewed through observation. |
