Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Assists the District RAR coordinator and serves as back-up with RAR related tasks including: reviewing incoming police reports daily for all counties within in District 2-0 for possible property damage; coordinates with County RAR Coordinator to complete a physical review of possible damage within 5 business days of notification of incident; creation of RAR related notifications and work orders in a timely manner; document needed repairs in appropriate locations. Locate, inspect and identify property damage, including guiderail, signs, etc, along the District 2-0 Interstate Corridor and other locations throughout the District as needed. May review any contractor work, i.e. guiderail repair, mowing, tree trimming, tree removal, herbicide, etc, completed in District 2-0. Assists with preparing Reimbursable Activity Reports (RARs) for all reported damage to highway facilities. Compiles all necessary data needed for the Department to bill the responsible party. Enters all required information in the Plant Maintenance SAP computer system. Works with the Central Office RAR Unit to resolve any issues regarding RAR billings and provide additional documentation as needed. Assists in analyzing work plans to ensure that the program is balanced and the labor, materials, equipment and funds necessary to complete work plans are available. Assists in completing adjustments to work plans as required and input notifications in SAP for 5-year SIP Plan and Section Cycle Maintenance. Assists in reviewing and analyzing data from the Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) Plant Maintenance and Roadway Management Systems (RMS) to endure program goals are achieved and overall systems control is maintained. Assists in reviewing foreman payrolls for accuracy. Utilizes reports to monitor work data information including production units completed, man-hours spent, equipment utilization, and material suage for fulfillment of work plans and resolves any inaccuracies that may occur. Reviews and monitors work data information to ensure compliance with county measurement tools and makes recommendations as to how the organization can improve. Monitor weekly crew production of core maintenance activities through appropriate system. Assists in monitoring maintenance operations in the field to ensure the applications of approved maintenance standards and in completing field studies to gather data from various maintenance operations for the development of work standards. Complete efficiency and safety reviews of crew operations when requested along with performing state route reviews and drainage inspections to assist in development of annual work plans. Recognizing that everyone is involved in the District’s and County’s actions to demonstrate sound environmental practices, each employee fulfills the maintenance unit business plan objectives related to the Strategic Environmental Management Program (SEMP). Performs special projects and other duties as required or assigned. Safety: 1.Assess your environment and be responsible for your safety, the safety of co-workers, and the public. 2. Attend required safety training and adhere to the requirements of all safety manuals, policies, and laws. 3. Immediately report to your supervisor any incident, unsafe practice, or near miss. 4. When in an enclosed environment (office buildings, confined spaces, flagger stations, equipment pinch points, etc.), know your evacuation process and escape route, your communication protocols, and appropriately react in the event of an incident. Succession Planning: Take an active role in succession planning by completing a Career Development Plan in collaboration with the supervisor. In conjunction with the supervisor, participate in knowledge management/transfer by identifying key aspects of the job and sharing explicit and tacit program/technical knowledge with other employees. Department Green Plan Policy: As part of PennDOT’s MS4 obligations including NPDES Permit compliance and stockpile good housekeeping, all Construction Inspection Employee, Manager & Supervisor and Maintenance Employee, Manager & Supervisor PD’s must include the following statement: Commit to following the Departments Green Plan Policy (Pub 712) and the associated principals. Failure to comply with Department Green Plan Policy shall be documented in employee’s performance review. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Unless directed otherwise by your supervisor or manager, comply with stated work hours for the 7.50/8.0-hour day. |
