Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Types correspondence, reports and other various documents for review and signature from the Corrections School Principal. Teachers and librarian staff requesting clerical assistance may be performed as approved by the CSP. Copy and distribute or mail/e-mail documents. Keep pertinent paper files and/or disk copies, track pending files. Provide clerical support for Inmate Employment in absence of assigned clerk. Notify attendees of meetings and take minutes for monthly Education Department meetings. Transpose, copy and distribute approved final minutes. Answer and transfer telephone calls, receive and distribute messages and faxes. Determine importance of calls and information and reach necessary staff member by pager or radio if necessary. Open and distribute mail. Ensure education documents are appropriately filed and kept per Department of Education guidelines. Order office supplies and servicing for office equipment. Submit work orders for work needed in Operations Complex. Coordinates and schedules request for use of conference room. Updates call-outs when education staff are unable to do so, in regards to deletions/additions. Ensure programs officers are receiving education and library call-outs on a daily basis. Performs timekeeping duties as needed for the Education Department. Attends all mandatory or relevant training. Submits leave as required through the ESS. 1. Type professionally and accurately 2.
