Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Participates in a 12-month training program that provides on-the-job and formal training in assisting higher level HR professionals with classification and organization management assignments designed to develop proficiency in delivering OM services to client agencies. Develops understanding of client agency programs and operations for purposes of evaluating and identifying classification, pay, and organization management needs. Participates in collaborations with the team supervisor, enterprise consultant, agency HR office staff, peers, and agency managers and supervisors to discuss OM related issues, explore options, deliver solutions, and explain decisions. Participates in conducting desk audits by interviewing employees, supervisors, and managers to determine duties assigned. Researches, assembles, and analyzes data as part of position classification reviews, organizational structure assessments, and other OM activities. Compares work against potentially applicable job specifications. Drafts technical evaluation reports and makes job classification recommendations. Reviews position descriptions and provides recommendations regarding their proper development and maintenance. Evaluates temporary working out-of-classification assignment requests, determines appropriateness and eligibility, and makes recommendations. Evaluates job classifications of position vacancies for appropriateness and ensures position descriptions are properly prepared as part of the NeoGov requisition workflow process. Evaluates supervisory reporting relationship change requests and makes recommendations. Drafts requests for the revision and creation of job specifications to support client agency needs. Considers span of control and organizational structure issues and participates in discussions of options with agency managers. Visits work sites to gather position and job information, observe work in progress, and conduct interviews. Drafts correspondence related to position classification activities for client agencies. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with agency program managers, agency HR office staff, OM coworkers, and various enterprise partners to collaborate on the resolution of OM matters. Performs other related duties as assigned. |
