Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position is assigned to the Employment, Banking & Revenue (EBR) Delivery Center in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) under the PA Office of Administration (OA).

This position serves as a team member providing application support services for the Bureau of Disability Determination (BDD). BDD staff perform functions associated with the Social Security Disability claim development, adjudication, and dispensation. These include highly complex data processing applications residing on various SSA hosted servers and other associated Windows and web-based operating platforms, which support BDD’s federally mandated objectives. Work is assigned in a detailed fashion and performed with guidance from the technical supervisor and/or team leader.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Participate in the development of objectives for the proposed system including logical model for the system, process logic definitions, critical data elements, and logical system design to meet user requirements.

Participate in the development of specifications for the proposed physical system including report layouts, screens, input documents and forms file design, forms design, and file definitions.

Monitor daily processing activities to identify and report processing anomalies to appropriate staff in a timely manner.

Assist with system and program coding, testing and documentation, including analysis of input and output from system tests to ensure that user requirements are being met

Provide limited system support and maintenance regarding system operations and new developments, corrections and enhancements that may be required.

Participate in the gathering of user information pertinent to the analysis, development, and design of complex electronic data processing applications associated with BDD’s core business functions.

Provide training to appropriate personnel on the developed systems.

Support and Perform other related activities as required.

Confidentiality Policy:
The incumbent of this position is required to adhere to the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Data Confidentiality Policy. This agreement is distributed electronically through the Office of Administration (OA) OIT eAgreement application. It must be acknowledged at the start of employment upon initial sign-on to the network and re-acknowledged as requested thereafter.
In addition, the incumbent is also required to pass and adhere to Federal Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) credentialling requirements.

Prepare detailed program specifications from user requirements for supervisor/team leader review and approval.

Monitor and identify processing anomalies associated with the daily automated applications and services.

Develop program code from detailed program specifications for supervisor/team leader review and approval.

Prepare detailed test plans for reviewing software changes/enhancements for supervisor/team leader approval.

Conduct software testing and provide results and recommendations to supervisor/team leader.
