Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Gathers data involving various measures of RAR reimbursement, budgeting, planning, and analyzing of data for the review of maintenance activities, programs, and costs within Perry County.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Serves as the County Reimbursable Accident Reports (RAR) Coordinator. Responsible for inspecting damage to state property and deciding what repairs will be needed.

Inputs the information into the Plant Maintenance system to process invoices from Central Office to the appropriate individual for the damage.

Serves as the County Tort Coordinator which involves coordinating accident claims, obtaining information, and providing local data to assess claims that occurred within the county.

Serves as the County Accident Investigation Coordinator which involves reviewing accident reports received from the police department or news media of accidents of a serious nature, performs field views, takes pictures, and collects data.

Coordinates data and information with the police department and the District Tort Coordinator. Reports are created and data is compiled and submitted electronically.

Makes field visits as needed to active contractor work sites to ensure work in progress is in accordance with contract standa

Decision Making:
Describe the types of decisions made by the incumbent of this position and the types of decisions referred to others. Identify the problems or issues that can be resolved at the level of this position, versus those that must be referred to the supervisor. Example: In response to a customer inquiry, this work involves researching the status of an activity and preparing a formal response for the supervisor’s signature.

Determines repair cost estimates based on the most likely quantities and method of repair upon inspection of damaged guiderails. Provides technical analysis and independent evaluation of the organization’s maintenance work programs in accordance with established guidelines. More complex issues are referred to the Roadway Programs Coordinator who also reviews work for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

Essential Functions
: Provide a list of essential functions for this position. Example: Transports boxes weighing up to 60 pounds.
 
 1. This position is heavily involved in outdoor activity and has periods of heavy exertion.
 2. Works under a variety of adverse weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, or snow.
 3. Be able to work extended hours under adverse conditions in response to emergency conditions.
 4. Hazardous situations such as around moving heavy equipment, in and around traffic, at heights, on steep grades, and on ladders, and uneven surfaces.
 5. Must be able to observe and react to hazard warnings, back-up alarms, flashing lights, voice commands, and hand signals.
 6. Manual laboring duties such as lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, setting up and operating testing and measuring equipment, using hand tools
 7. Taking and transporting materials samples. Requires stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, and prolonged standing.
 8. Withstand exposure to chemical agents, exhaust gases and lubricants, solvents, poisonous plants, animals, and insects.
 9. Potential injuries such as bruises, scrapes, cuts, strains, and sprains.
 10. Wear all types of required protective gear such as hard hats, footgear, hearing and eye protection, gloves, and respirators.
