Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. 30% Provides in-person forensic instruction to Local, State and Federal agencies. Assists with the preparation of course materials, prints and/or requests reproduction of approved course material and compiles for distribution to class attendees. Using professional publications and websites, researches state-of-the-art methods of forensic identification and recommends appropriate changes/enhancements to existing course material. Researches technical and scientific literature for purposes of creating course presentation material, handouts, and PowerPoint presentations. Assists in setting up and break down of workshops and mock crime scenes. Assists with gathering and transporting forensic supplies, equipment, and handouts necessary for course instruction. Assists in creating workshop samples and materials. Maintains record of laboratory chemical supply and corresponding safety data sheets. 25% Maintains course registry which includes registering applicants, sending confirmations, and reminders. Enters, maintains, and updates the training database within Microsoft Access. Queries the database to provide pertinent information for the command staff. 10% Manages all photographic subpoena AR 6-3 and AR 9-10 requests for the Bureau of Forensic Services. Communicates with Attorney General’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, and various levels of the Judicial System regarding subpoenas and photographic requests. 10% Maintains and updates full-time and alternate Forensic Services Unit roster. Compiles received Monthly Activity Reports for all Troop Forensic Service Units and composes annual reports via Excel Spreadsheet for each individual Troop. 10% Maintains and requests office and/or laboratory supplies and completes annual inventory control. 5% Responsible for Bureau of Forensic Services Procurement and Supply requests. 5% Assists with evaluation and implementation of forensic standards 5% Performs other related duties as required. |
