Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Participates in training-level position recruitment and talent acquisition related services as part of the Department of Corrections Human Resource team, under close supervision and with the completion of on-the-job and formal training.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Participates in a 12-month training program that provides on-the-job and formal training in assisting higher level HR professionals with recruitment and talent acquisition assignments designed to develop proficiency in delivering services to client agencies.

Develops understanding of client agency programs and operations for purposes of evaluating and identifying recruitment efforts and talent acquisition needs

Participates in the development of specialized and localized recruitment efforts, reviews recruitment requests and collaborates on recruitment plans. Assists with serving as a liaison with Enterprise Recruitment.

Participates in on-site job fair meetings for Corrections Officer Trainees (COT) in collaboration with the COT hiring team, Recruitment & Retention Team, and institutional staff.

Participates in the development and maintenance of vacancy status reports to meet the needs of the agency to manage the filling of vacancies.

Research position statuses, identifies any potential issues, and provides frequent updates on high priority jobs.

Engages with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition Analysts for hard-to-fill positions to determine recruiting strategies and recommendations.

Assists in administering the agency’s internship program by obtaining necessary approvals, ensuring appropriate agreements are in place, and coordinating with program area during the hiring process.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

As a trainee, this position is provided with training and limited independent work. As experience is gained throughout the year, the incumbent will begin to facilitate recruitment efforts, etc., under close supervision.
