Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position is within the Enterprise Technology Services Office and is responsible for the administration of information technology equipment supporting IT systems and users. This includes maintenance, transporting, installation, and operation of IT equipment both centralized and distributed throughout all remote locations. The expectation of this position is to administer all OA IT policies. This position is providing a secure and up-to-date environment for IT resources for the Bureau of Enterprise Technology Services. This individual must be able to comprehend enterprise IT policies, initiatives and perform the necessary actions to comply with these policies. When necessary, assist users and other IT groups when troubleshooting issues and act as a liaison with vendors. Work assignments are provided with specific instructions and objectives along with the expected completion dates.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Relocates designated information technology hardware for users. Supports and performs assigned aspects of deinstallation, moving, re-installation and coordination of vendor services for site moves across PA. Surpluses or repurpose racks and equipment as appropriate. Participates in coordinating with other IT groups to plan work in concert with the end user’s needs.

Responsible for scheduling work\repair with site contacts to get approval and provide notice of any disruption of service.

Responsible for being the IT point of contact for new building constructions. This includes biweekly or monthly in-person meetings. Coordinating with IT stakeholders, facilities stakeholders, and vendors.

Independently research and implement new technology initiatives.

Responsible for running, terminating, and testing category (CAT) cabling.

Deploys new equipment during life cycle refresh projects. Trains others on standard network setup and provides instructions to maintain consistency during equipment replacements/refresh.

Independently installs, updates, and maintains operating systems. Work includes installing and testing IT hardware and software. Identify problems and troubleshoot with other IT groups to ensure positive results. This includes but is not limited to the following: IT hardware and software, IT peripheral devices, UPS devices, mobile connectivity, and audio visual hardware.

Ensure proper use of the change management system while addressing and managing of Change Requests for network services via the Enterprise IT service management (ITSM) solution.

Ensure proper use and management of all ITIL processes.

Manages and provides reporting for all work activities.

Possesses Commonwealth mobile device for communicating with management and appropriate contacts.

Travel as required, including some overnight stays.

Performs other related duties as assigned, to include those outlined in the CoG Plan.

General guidelines and proposed objectives are given by immediate supervisor. Oversees the installation of equipment according to design or specifications provided. Acts as lead personnel when onsite with vendors or other commonwealth employees.
