Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Answer incoming local and long-distance calls in a timely manner, obtaining adequate information to direct the call to the appropriate department or person. Place outgoing local and long-distance calls for institution staff. Provide additional information to expedite calls such as remembering names and location of frequently called Department personnel. Report suspicious calls to the Shift Commander if it involves an inmate or to the proper Department head if it involves an employee. Perform clerical and typing duties as assigned. Inputs maintenance work orders and purchase requests for the Business Manager and the Business Office via SRM, APR system, etc. Enter payment information for Pcard transactions in the APR system. Receive payment from staff for institutional services such as automotive repairs and haircuts. Prepare and distribute applicable paperwork. Clerical support for the Maintenance Department. Assists in inputting Inmate Visitors. Acts as appointments coordinator for the Deferred Compensation and Retirement representatives. Performs other related duties, as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing 2. Perform basic mathematical computations 3. Operate basic office equipment 4. Reach, bend, stoop, pull, push, kneel, lift, climb, and grasp 5. Perform repetitive motions 6. Maintain regular and reliable attendance 7. Establish and maintain effective working relationships 8. Attend and participate in all mandatory training and/or testing 9. Work overtime in compliance with provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement 10. Travel as required 11. Be mobile over all types of physical surfaces and levels (in an institutional setting) 12. Be visually observant of environment (in an institutional setting) 13. Hear and identify sounds (voices, whistle, buzzer, lock release, scuffling, sudden quiet) [in an institutional setting] |
