Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. This position is responsible for learning to examine business tax accounts and associated tax documents, complete work items involving duplicate customer accounts, update demographics, and create, reopen, and correct customer accounts to allow returns and payments to be posted correctly. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Learns to navigate myPath to assist taxpayers in creating login credentials for the purpose of registering for business tax accounts, filing returns/payments, updating customer information, and resetting passwords. Learns to research and analyze customer information in systems such as PATH (Pennsylvania Tax Hub), PA100 website, Data warehouse (Bridges), Department of State, and IRS for the purpose of completing internal/eternal work item requests, correcting registration errors, demographic updates, and to create or maintain complex tax accounts, ensuring licenses and certificates have been issued correctly and timely. Learns to retrieve and examine various business tax suspensions, Individual Returns, Business Returns in the Open Tasks menu to resolve errors which prevents the processing, creation, and updates of business tax accounts. Learns to create tax profiles and the expectations for various suspended returns or payments when an account does not exist. Learns to review and complete priority work projects, such as Legislative Referrals, Rev 1605 Corporate Officer updates, Rev 854 FEIN/Tax Year Address update which will require a manual update of the customer account info. Learns to review and process Rev 976 S Corp Elections to determine the appropriate business structure election, this will also determine a corporations’ tax filing. Learns to view customer filing obligations to determine the correct filing frequency. Learns to generate filing obligations, and/or change the account filing frequency as required with the skill to explain the filing frequency process. Learns to review customer financial information for the purpose of initiating the transfer payments and returns from one customer to another within the PATH system. Learns to explain to taxpayers how to calculate penalty and interest charges on delinquent taxpayers’ accounts. Learns to review customer accounts for Delinquencies before deciding to validate a license account. Learns to assist third parties in completing the power of attorney (REV 677) form which will allow them act on behalf of a person or businesses as their agent. Learns to respond to customers inquiries by telephone, emails, Right Now emails, fax or MyPath online request. Learns to correspond with customers or tax professionals to gather additional information required to resolve processing errors or update requests. Composes emails to obtain clarification and request verifiable documentation, when needed, to process work items and web notices from within Revenue and MyPath customers. Learns to respond to inquiries where knowledge of the Commonwealth tax laws, regulations, procedures, and policies. Learns to resolve work Item requests to create and maintain customer licensing statuses (Issued, Pending, Pre-Denied, Denied) in PATH. Learns to create work item requests to initiate a compliance check on licenses that are in a non-issued status. Learns to create and maintain customer work items for demographic information as in adding/updating business addresses, filing periods, correspondence, and track registration statuses in PATH. Learns to operate the phone system to receive and initiate telephone calls and provide excellent customer service. Learns to prepare completed work for imaging and scanning of any documents received to close a work item. Learns to prepare daily production reports for the supervisor’s review. Maintains safe and secure area for daily work duties. Being mindful of internal controls and risk management when changes are made to a process. Demonstrates a commitment to meeting expectations of the bureau/program’s customer(s) at all times. Apply Lean thinking in day-to-day tasks. Treats others equitably and adheres to diversity and inclusion requirements in the workplace. Performs other related duties as required. |

Determines the most appropriate response to registration questions and concerns. Reviews correspondence, e-mails, facsimiles, and registration forms to determine the appropriate action to be taken. Determines when multiple customers in Path and tax ID numbers require separating/merging. |
