Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Serve as an OPEX Eagle operator, OPEX Falcon operator, and Balancing Clerk in the Remittance Processing Unit. Responsibilities include verification and processing of Vehicle Registration renewals (VR), Driver License renewals (DL), and Disability Parking Placards as well as other state or non-state agency applications accompanied by checks/money orders utilizing the Check 21 System and all processes within this system to update their renewals. Most of the work processed in this unit is a team collaboration effort. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. OPEX Falcon: Prepare applications/checks for processing by placing them in a Syntron 150 jogger. Employee must comprehend the correct start-up and shut down procedures for the OPEX Falcon which requires the use of a keyboard, mouse, and PC. Ability to replace encoder ink cartridges. Correct track jams by releasing various latches then reunite the applications with corresponding checks according to the menu options on the track. Verify batches of processed applications/checks for correct endorsement of audit trail. Place processed checks in check trays according to sequence and batch numbers. Place processed applications in trays according to sequence and batch numbers. Prepare and place batch header cards for each batch in application/check trays. Transport processed check trays to the appropriate areas for depositing. Transport processed application trays to appropriate area for secured disposal. Clean OPEX Falcon track machine several times throughout the workday. The machine must be cleaned at the start of each shift. Use the vacuum/blower cleaner lightly and/or cleaning fluid to clean all attachments and internal parts. OPEX Eagle: Prepares work coming in from the Post Office by removing the trays from the cardboard transport sleeves. Load the conveyor belt with envelopes. Go through each tray to remove items that do not belong (e.g., thick envelopes, odd sized envelopes, taped, labels sticking out, etc.). Employee must comprehend the correct start-up and shut down procedures for the OPEX Eagle. Ability to replace belts, fix belts that slipped off their posts, install appropriate ink cartridges and/or correct track jams by releasing various latches and/or belts then reunite the applications with corresponding checks according to the menu options on the machine as well as verifying that the jammed applications match the checks. Verify processed applications/checks for correct endorsement of audit trail. Place processed checks in check trays according to sequence and batch numbers. Place processed applications in trays according to sequence and batch numbers. Prepare and place batch header cards for each batch in application/check trays. Process work through the Re-Feed mechanism. Constantly pull processed applications/checks from the bins and place into appropriate trays to then be transported back to specific work locations. Transport full trash dumpsters to the dock on the 1st floor throughout the course of processing. Transport the empty mail trays and lids to Output Control located on the 1st floor sometime during the course of the morning. Transport processed check trays to the appropriate areas for depositing. Transport processed application trays to appropriate area for secured disposal. Clean OPEX Eagle machine several times throughout the workday, especially at the end of the workday. Use the vacuum cleaner, air compressor and/or cleaning fluid to clean all attachments and internal parts. The work processed through the OPEX Eagle is a team collaboration effort since there is one employee working on the front part of the Eagle and one employee on the back end of the Eagle. Perform the following Balancing segments of Check 21: Check Amount Entry (data enter the correct dollar amount from the face value of the check image), Balancing (ensure the dollar amount of the check matches the application scan line amounts, with or without toggles on and vice versa), Scan Line Fix (data enter either the MICR line from the check image or the scan line from the application image), Operator Review (match the toggles of application and against what the Check 21 system read), and VD Operator Review and Mark Sense (check or uncheck box according to customer requests). The Balancing segments will be for the following work sources: VR, DL, and Disability Parking Placards as well as any other potential state or non-state agency applications being processed through the Check 21 System. Balancing can be completed at the employee’s own desk. When applicable, verifies VR, DL, and Disability Parking Placards manually; as well as any other potential state or non-state agency applications being processed through the Check 21 System. Identify and pull balancing rejections by referencing the Rejected Item Detail Report to either re-process applications or having them rejected back to customer. This is generally done at the end of the workday. Must be available during peak seasons for overtime hours to alleviate the workload. Performs other related duties as assigned. When in an enclosed environment (office buildings, confined spaces, flagger stations, equipment pinch points, etc.), know your evacuation process and escape route, your communication protocols, and appropriately react in the event of an incident. |

I decide if the OPEX Falcon machine or OPEX EAGLE machine needs minor repair or if I need to contact the supervisor/work leader for further assistance or contact the technician for immediate repair. |
