Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Under the direction of the Roadway Programs Coordinator performs various clerical support functions for the Chester County Maintenance Unit. Cooperates as a team member to suggest and use improved methods and technologies, providing courteous internal and external customer services, improving communications and promoting a safer working environment.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Performs a variety of clerical support functions for winter operations with primary function as office receptionist. Answers all incoming phone calls, documents and forwards calls to necessary staff.

Inputs and maintains all complaints and concerns in the Customer Care Center (CCC).

Inputs and maintains Road Closure Reporting System(RCRS) conditions for winter operations.

Gathers traffic restrictions information from Assistant Managers, prepares information and sends to District Traffic Unit.

Faxes in-house postings to each stockpile. Maintains files for posting receipts and ensure all are complete.

Posts in-house postings on bulletin board.

Maintains deer log.

Performs various clerical tasks which include filing, faxing and copying.

Follow proper attendance, call-off and leave scheduling procedures, adheres to start/stop times, break and meal periods; makes effective use of time to minimize non-productive down time.

Maintains a clean well-organized area conducive to safe and efficient operations.

Recognizes that everyone is involved in the District's and County's actions to demonstrate sound environmental practices, each employee fulfills the maintenance unit Strategic Environmental Management Program (SEMP) business plan objectives. Also supports the efforts of other employees to meet these objectives. Attends environmental training designated for this working title.

Performs other related work when needed.

Succession Planning:
Take an active role in succession planning by completing a Career Development Plan in collaboration with the supervisor. In conjunction with the supervisor, participate in knowledge management/transfer by identifying key aspects of the job and sharing explicit and tacit program/technical knowledge with other employees.

Safety

2. Attend required safety training and adhere to the requirements of all safety manuals, policies, and laws.
3. Immediately report to your supervisor any incident, unsafe practice, or near miss.
4. When in an enclosed environment (office buildings, confined spaces, flagger stations, equipment pinch points, etc.), know your evacuation process and escape route, your communication protocols, and appropriately react in the event of an incident.

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA):
Unless directed otherwise by your supervisor or manager, comply with stated work hours for the 7.5/8.0 hour day.

Overtime may be required for emergency and snow operations.

Determines which Assistant Manager handles CCC concerns based on area. Directs call to proper personnel.

Essential Functions
