Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Receives, opens, sorts, batches mail; distribute, monitor and QC work; acts as back-up for transporting mail from post office to ROC, making messenger runs to the Keystone and other Harrisburg area locations; and delivers all incoming and outgoing work for Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) and Bureau of Driver License (BDL). |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. This position is responsible for the distributing work and QC employees completed batches of work. Distribute and pick up work from Mail Opening employees, Place work on shelves for Key Entry area on an as needed basis. Employee will serve as back up to the messenger, responsibilities would include but limited to picking up mail from post office using non-commercial van or a commercial motor vehicle, delivering mail/packages to varies facilities in the Harrisburg area. Employee will sort and scan packages into the Smart Trak System and deliver to units within the building. When time permits, employee will open, sort and batch work as needed. This requires reading to determine type of forms VR or DL. Contact internal customers via e-mail or phone call when their area has bulk packages at Dock. Employee will help train new employees, assist with making sure all necessary on-board training is completed by new employees. Answer questions related to batching of the work. QC mail bins at back mail table to ensure mail is being delivered to proper person/unit. Must be able to work overtime when requested by Bureau. Performs other related work duties as assigned. SAFETY REQIREMENT: 1. Assess your environment and be responsible for your safety, the safety of co-workers, and the public. 2. Attend required safety training and adhere to the requirements of all safety manuals, policies, and laws. 3. Immediately report to your supervisor any incident, unsafe practice, or near miss. 4. When in an enclosed environment (office building, confined spaces, flagger stations, equipment pinch point, etc.) know your evacuation process and escape route, your communication protocols, and appropriately react in the event of an incident. 5. Employees must wear safety gloves when assigned to duties that require them. |
