Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Processes vehicle title and registration requests. Reviews applications and responds to inquiries on motor vehicles transactions such as titling trucks, tractor, and charter buses, suspending or restoring records, issuing registration, and completing requests for duplicate credentials. Determines the proper classification of a vehicle, sales tax requirements & authorization to receive a restricted plate. Creates and maintains Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) accounts. Responds to customer inquiries via mail, telephone, face-to-face interaction, or electronic correspondences. Validates proof of residency documents for new accounts and address changes. Monitors, reviews, & facilitates transactions in the CMV Online Web Processing Queue. Performs quality control reviews of online transactions processed in the CMV system by business partners to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Department procedures and policies. Communicates errors & assists with correction of transactions completed by online business partners. Researches, identifies, and resolves routine to complex discrepancies. Maintains security of all title and registration products, credentials, and funds (cash or credit) related to Motor Vehicle transactions. Reviews and documents all cash drawer, check, check exchanges and electronic currency transaction policies regarding the security, shortages, and overages of departmental funds. Ensures correct fee waiver codes are used and properly documented whenever a waiver of fees is necessary to process a customer transaction. Updates documents, spreadsheets, databases, and use of email functions daily. Determines when a refund is due through verification if returned credentials are unused or if temporary credentials were issues. Assists in processing applications for the Apportion Unit and the Customer Service Division as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Safety 1.Assess your environment and be responsible for your safety, the safety of co-workers, and the public. 2.Attend required safety training and adhere to the requirements of all safety manuals, policies, and laws. 3.Immediately report to your supervisor any incident, unsafe practice, or near miss. 4.When in an enclosed environment (office buildings, confined spaces, flagger stations, equipment pinch points, etc.), know your evacuation process and escape route, your communication protocols, and appropriately react in the event of an incident. |
