Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Working time percentages are approximate and can change on a daily basis due to operational needs. 20% Performs major and minor repairs on all cars, trucks and other equipment. 20% Maintains a state inspection license and inspects all vehicles for compliance with state inspection codes. 20% Repairs transmissions, clutches, brakes and all parts of automotive equipment, checks alignment, makes minor body repairs, performs other repairs as necessary. 20% Repairs and overhauls automobiles, trucks, tractors, air compressors, and generators and other related equipment. 7% Maintains accurate service records for each vehicle. 4% Makes repairs on emergency generators and air compressors throughout the facility. 4% Performs other duties as required. 2% Dispenses gasoline diesel fuel and oil for all state owned equipment. 2% Performs welding and brazing tasks as necessary. 1% Subject to emergency at all times especially in winter weather Essential Job Functions: 1. Operates computer diagnostic equipment. 2. Operates a personal computer and software to prepare reports. 3. Understands and carries out written/oral instructions. 4. Prepares records and reports on automotive repair/maintenance. 5. Operates motor vehicles. 6. Maintains a class C Pa. Driver’s license. 7. Identifies defects in vehicles & repairs. 8. Identifies defects in power equipment/repairs. 9. Recognizes occupational hazards. 10. Follows safety precautions. 11. Performs heavy manual work. 12. Works cooperatively with other staff. |
