Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the supervision of Third Party Liability Agents headquartered within the REF Unit, Recovery Section, Division of Third Party Liability (TPL), Bureau of Program Integrity, Office of Administration. The unit's primary function is to recover medical and cash assistance benefits that were paid correctly or incorrectly. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Plans, directs and monitors work within the unit by assigning and reviewing work establishing performance standards. Reviews and analyzes Federal and State laws and regulations pertinent to TPL recovery and to keep staff apprised of changes which affect the recovery process. Responsible for insuring that the Division's goals and objectives are successfully obtained. Liaison between the Recovery unit and HealthChoices/Managed Care Organizations plans. Consults with staff as needed on an individual and group basis to discuss difficult cases and to share technical expertise to determine the appropriate course of action. Responsible for identifying and researching problem areas within the unit by periodically reviewing policies and procedures. Responsible for implementing approved changes through a series of formal training sessions. Participates in work groups and committees to provide relevant information for the development of the new or revised procedures, processes or policies. Responsible for preparing correspondence pertaining to various inquiries explaining the Department's regulations and operational methods. Develops a close working relationship with the Department's legal staff, Office of Inspector General and other state and federal agencies. Performs other related duties as required. |
