Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

The employee in this position provides clerical support to the Dietary Department.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Answer telephone calls, receive and route messages. Make copies, type documents, and send and deliver faxes as needed.

Enter information into computerized menu system. Run necessary reports and provide to appropriate staff for meal needs.

Interact with the Registered Dietitians, FSS, FSW and interdisciplinary team members to facilitate resident meal needs/changes

Order, stock, and distribute all forms used in Dietary and obtain appropriate signatures when needed.

Collect, sort, process and distribute mail.

Maintain a filing system in the department for personnel files which contain up-to-date job descriptions, performance evaluations, current addresses and telephone numbers, records of absence, overtime equalization records, disciplinary actions, and all other pertinent information.

Prepare and maintain files on schedules, requests for leave, work and shift assignments, purchase request documents, letters, memorandums, and other various forms.

Update and post applicable information on all bulletin boards and units.

Prepare all correspondence for the department including not limited to daily menus, tray tags, food orders, weekly menus, temperature logs

Act as liaison between the Director of Dietetic Services and all other departments to include verbal and written communications.

Request office supplies per the process to purchase requisitions/shopping carts as requested.

Input maintenance orders, IT request as needed for the Dietary Department

Attend scheduled training as required.

Performs work in accordance with the DMVA general safety rules and safety rules for this position. Immediately reports all workplace injuries or incidents to the supervisor and/or immediately corrects any safety hazards in the work area or reports same to supervisor.

Support the facility QAPI efforts by attending all assigned QAPI training; following established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts; participate in PIP teams as assigned; sharing ideas for improvement in the organization; and supporting QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally, including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.

Perform other related duties as required.

Use personal protective equipment when required such as gloves, masks, face shield, etc.
