Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. 50% - The automation of manual criminal records involves reviewing and processing various form and legal documents to provide an accurate criminal history. This involves compiling and interpreting information from fingerprint cards, docket transcripts, miscellaneous disposition sheets, Probation/Parole Notices, Bureau of Correction Status Reports, and Governor’s Pardons. Communicate effectively with courts, police departments, state institutions and other law enforcement agencies to modify and correct criminal history arrest information. Must be able to interpret and apply Pennsylvania Crimes Code, Penal Code, Vehicle Code, Pharmacy laws, Liquor Code, and the Drug and Cosmetic Act. Examines criminal case information and accurately determines final dispositions. Interprets legal terminology, criminal procedures, and sentencing guidelines. Update crimes code listings in accordance with legislative changes. Make precise and accurate decisions concerning final court disposition from district justice, municipal and common please courts, which are obtained through the J-Net website and miscellaneous documents in the jacket. Performs quality control for completeness and accuracy of automated records. Sends letters to the Court of Common Pleas requesting dispositions for felony charges. Interprets court documents and updates the RAP Sheet accordingly when dispositions are received. 30% - Responsible for processing fingerprint comparisons to determine the identity of an individual who has submitted fingerprints for identity determination. Prepare fingerprint card with SID#(s) to send to Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) for comparison. Uses INTEGRA to obtain fingerprints for comparison. Interprets SID information received from AFIS. Determines if there is identity theft by running personal information through the Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN). Sends letter, ID Theft # (if applicable) and updates Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) accordingly. Testifies on behalf of the Pennsylvania State Police in the Court of Common Pleas with regards to an individual who is requesting their identifiers be removed from another individual’s record. Travel to the hearing venues to provide testimony is required. 10% - Updated Record Reconciliation requests received electronically from AOPC in CCHRI. 10% - Assist with PATCH Requests. Assist supervisor in training new employees. Perform various other related clerical duties when assigned. Answer telephone calls for the PATCH Help Line and for Fingerprint Identity Determination. |
