Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position screens and vets employees, military members, visitors, contractors, and consultants to determine their eligibility to access Fort Indiantown Gap (FIG) at the access control point (ACP) Visitor’s Center or at the main lobby of Edward Martin Hall.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Greets, screens, and vets entrants by accessing state and federal databases such as the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), the Automated Installation Entry (AIE) system, the Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN), and the Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) to determine eligibility to access the installation.

Gathers information and maintains records from databases to include but not limited to criminal history, warrant information, driver license information/histories, vehicle registrations, probation and parole status, and other information in accordance with federal laws, state laws, CLEAN/NCIC, JNET, AIE, and police department policy and directives.

Maintains confidentiality. Safeguards all records and information from the above databases and computer systems to ensure the information is never disseminated to unauthorized individuals.

Prepares reports, maintain logs, and completes other forms or paperwork as required for the position.

Issues visitor passes for individuals accessing the installation and Bldg. 0-47 and provides directions when needed.

Assists police department staff and PA National Guard force protection staff by providing information and reports and notifying FTIG Police immediately of any emergencies. Cooperates with other local, state, and federal law enforcement authorities as needed.

Operates various equipment such as telephones, portable radios, computers, and closed-circuit television systems.

Participates in and assists with training programs to develop and maintain essential job knowledge and skills.

Provides responsive and accurate customer service to visitors and to FIG personnel.
Carries out clerical support duties to ensure efficient office operations.

Performs work in accordance with the DMVA general safety rules and safety rules for this position. Immediately reports all workplace injuries or incidents to the supervisor; and/or immediately corrects any safety hazards in the work area or reports same to supervisor.

Performs other related duties as required.

**Must submit to and pass a criminal history background check upon offer of employment.**

**Must submit to and pass a police background investigation upon offer of employment.**

**Must maintain active National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the duration of employment in this job.**

**Must maintain active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) and Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) certifications issued by the Pennsylvania State Police for the duration of employment in this job.**

**Must maintain access to a Common Access Card (CAC) as issued by the federal Department of Defense for the duration of employment in this job.**

**Must maintain access to the Automated Installation Entry (AIE) system for the duration of employment in this job.**

Essential Functions
