Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Perform carpentry work such as installing drop ceilings, sheet rock, paneling, and floor tiles. Place roofs on buildings and repair/patch leaks. Install windowpanes, storm doors, and air conditioners. Build shelves, stages, workstations, flag holders, etc. Repair holes in walls and repair or replace windowpanes and screens. Put insulation in ceilings and walls. Install plywood and corkboard on walls. Sand and varnish floors. Install drainpipes and spouting. Install toilets, faucets, and showers. Perform other plumbing work such as repair or replace sinks, flush controls and leaky faucets, pipes, valves, and seals. Unclog drains and replace washers in sinks and faucets. Prepare interior and exterior areas for painting. Mix paint if necessary. Perform interior and exterior painting (walls, floors, signs, ceilings, trim doors, etc. Replace water heaters. Change filters in HVAC units. Install and replace electrical switches, receptacles, ballasts, and light bulbs. If needed, run wire and conduit. Mix and pour cement. Patch sidewalks. Build forms and walls for cementing. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition by making minor repairs and performing preventive maintenance such as oiling, cleaning, adjusting, etc. Prepare material lists for each assigned job. Maintain records of work performed and material utilized for job completion. Ensure all unused material is returned to warehouse stock. Maintain grounds and walkways by cutting grass, shoveling snow, and plowing snow using front-end loader and trucks. Trim trees and shrubs. Plant flowers. Keep outside areas free of debris. Practice occupational hazard/safety precautions of the trades. Work in areas of height. Performs work in accordance with the DMVA general safety rules and safety rules for this position. Immediately reports all workplace injuries or incidents to the supervisor; and/or immediately corrects any safety hazards in the work area or reports same to supervisor. Our goals will be achieved by continuing our focus on injury reduction through education and accountability. Perform other related duties as required. **Must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap. |
