Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. 40% - Compile Initial Reception Committee forms for all new receptions into the institution to input data into the computer. Maintain an accurate daily list of inmate receptions, discharges, van schedules, cell assignments and job assignments. Assists in updating and maintaining the Inmate Information System and the Inmate Bed Assignment Systems. 20% - Assist in processing monthly inmate payrolls, including the accuracy of reported work hours and pay rates, processing demotions, increments, job suspensions, etc. 10% - Assist in maintaining master list of all inmates’ work assignments to be updated weekly. Assist in maintaining records on each inmate’s work assignments, progress evaluations, etc. Assist in assigning inmate to jobs according to treatment plans, vocational skills, aptitudes and institutional need when possible. Meet with Vocational Education staff to assist in finding appropriate job assignments for inmates enrolled in or completing vocational training assignments. Compile inmate work histories for use in parole reports used to determine possible Community Correction Center placement. Assist when needed in Support Team hearings and unit staffing to provide input regarding inmate job performance and adjustments. 5% - Meet with inmates when needed in response to written request to discuss work related problems. Conduct interviews with inmate when needed to resolve payroll problems. 5% - Works closely with the CCPM in scheduling/coordination of the Community Work Program, include corresponding and communicating with the public. 10% - Assists the CEVC in collecting and maintaining data specific to reentry initiatives to include Non-Driver’s License ID, Driver Licenses, Birth Certificates, duplicate Social Security Cards, and Compass applications for Medicaid. Reports data to BIS Reentry Program manager on a monthly basis. Assists the CEVC in serving as the facility’s Reentry Coordinator and coordinates any programs designed and implemented to assist inmates with their return to their communities. Assists the CEVC in services as the facility’s point of contact with Institutional PBPP staff in working together on prisoner reentry. Assists the CEVC in ensuring that community resource lists, guide, booklets and accessible to inmates in the facility library, during COR classes and upon request. Also ensures that appropriate publications for Family and Friends is maintained in the facility visiting room. Assists the CEVC in monitoring contracted employees’ activities at the local level (ex. PRI and other Reentry Initiatives.) 5% - Proctor inmates during Pell Grant classes and other related duties assigned. 5% - Performs other related duties as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Work overtime in compliance with provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement 9. Travel as required 10. Be mobile over all types of physical surfaces and levels 11. Visually observe inmates’ activities 12. Hear and identify sounds (voices, whistle, buzzer, lock release, scuffling, sudden quiet) |
