Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position represents the Office of Developmental Programs within the regional office. They are responsible for inspection, licensure, and monitoring of community service providers to insure that they meet the appropriate regulatory standards and are operating in accordance with legal requirements and established rules and regulations. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. •Plans, organizes and conducts inspections of provider agencies and programs to measure their compliance with existing state regulations. Inspections are conducted for Adult Training Facilities, Vocational Facilities, Community Homes and Family Living Homes. • Prepares Licensing Inspection Summaries, as required, citing providers for specific areas of non-compliances observed and documented during the inspection process. • Approves and monitors provider’s plans of correction through on-site visits, by telephone, and review of documentation to verify that areas of non-compliance are corrected within the specified time frames. • Determines compliance with existing regulations and recommends type of license to be issued. • Provides guidance and advice to community service providers for correcting non-compliance areas. • Provides technical assistance to community service providers, county intellectual disability programs and the general public by explaining regulations and licensure requirements governing intellectual disability programs. • Conducts investigations of community service providers when complaints are received in the Office of Developmental Programs as directed. • Attends Appeal Hearings and provides testimony regarding licenses which have been denied or revoked as a result of a licensing inspection. • Attends licensing meetings and training sessions to insure consistency of interpretation and administration of regulations. • Performs other related duties as required. |
