Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively.

This position performs facilities and grounds maintenance and repair work for the 193d Special Operations Wing at the Harrisburg International Airport, ensuring the most efficient and effective utilization of government maintenance and repair funds.

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Performs major and minor maintenance and repair work at the 193d Special Operations Wing. Specific duties include:

Installs and replaces electrical circuits, wall plugs, lighting fixtures, and switches. Changes light bulbs and ballasts.

Installs sinks, water faucets, and commodes; repairs and replaces flush controls and leaky pipes; and unclogs drains and replaces washers in sinks and faucets. Installs and repairs interior drain lines to include PVC, copper, and steel.

Repairs door frames, windows, and sills; installs paneling and floor tiles; repairs wall holes; repairs and replaces window screens and panes; fixes doors and locks; and installs doors.

Mixes cement and pours into forms, repairs sidewalks, and makes plaster repairs.

Prepares interior walls, ceilings, and trim for painting. Mixes paint and performs interior and exterior painting (walls, floors, ceilings, trim, doors, window frames, etc.).

Makes repairs and minor adjustments to equipment such as gates, air compressors, water heaters, door closures, exterior lighting fixtures, etc.; performs preventive maintenance such as oiling and cleaning.

Conducts facilities maintenance actions, such as replacing and installing ceiling tile, replacing/installing door closures and lock assemblies, operating lawn care and landscaping equipment, operating street sweeping equipment, and operating pressure washing equipment.

Operates base snow plowing and snow removal equipment. Assists as a member of the Base Snow Removal Team.

Operates and maintains tools and equipment of the trades.

Performs work in accordance with the DMVA general safety rules and safety rules for this position. Immediately reports all workplace injuries or incidents to the supervisor; and/or immediately corrects any safety hazards in the work area or reports same to supervisor.

Obtain and/or maintain a REAL-ID; or other REAL ID-compliant identification card. Performs related duties as required.

Identify the problems or issues that can be resolved at the level of this position, versus those that must be referred to the supervisor. Example: In response to a customer inquiry, this work involves researching the status of an activity and preparing a formal response for the supervisor’s signature.

1. After receiving instructions from the Facility Manager or Production Controller, works relatively independently to determine the best method for making repairs, which steps to follow, timing of work to ensure products have the opportunity to cure, and when to start and stop workload to allow sufficient time to accomplish job sequence before necessary work stoppages occur, etc.

2. Determines which tools to use to best accomplish the required job.

3. Determines what parts or materials are required and ordering through the Supply Technician.

4. Makes customer contact to explain the job process.

1.	Perform all work using Personal Protective Equipment & safety practices
